Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will hold talks on November 12 to discuss economic, political, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, the leaders are also expected to address key regional and global agenda items. Putin may also brief Tokayev on developments in the conflict zone and peace process regarding Ukraine. Peskov noted that Moscow would be interested to learn about Tokayev's recent talks with US President Donald Trump, should the Kazakh leader choose to share details.
The visit will also feature the signing of several bilateral cooperation documents, along with a joint address by both presidents to participants of the XXI Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan via video link.
Tokayev is on a two-day state visit to Russia – the highest status of diplomatic visits. On November 11, the informal portion of his program concluded with a private dinner at the Kremlin apartment within the Senate Palace, Putin's official residence. This gesture, extended to few foreign counterparts, signifies the high level of trust and excellent personal relations between the two leaders.
