Putin Appoints New Ambassador to Bangladesh

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Alexander Khozin as the new Ambassador to Bangladesh, according to a decree issued.

 

The document states: “To appoint Alexander Grigoryevich Khozin as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.”

 

Khozin replaces Alexander Mantytskiy, who has held the post since 2021.

 

Born in 1962, Khozin graduated from the Military Red Banner Institute in Moscow and joined the Russian diplomatic service in 1992. He has held various positions within the Russian Foreign Ministry and abroad, including as Head of Department in the Second Asia Department and Counselor in Russian embassies in Nepal and Pakistan. Khozin holds the diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the 2nd class and is fluent in Hindi and English.
