Putin appoints new Russian Ambassador to Brunei

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Mikhail Baranov as Russia's Ambassador to Brunei. The document was published Tuesday on the official portal of legal information.

 

"To appoint Mikhail Vladimirovich Baranov as Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Brunei Darussalam," the decree reads.

 

Previously Baranov served as deputy director of the first department of Asia of the Russian MFA.

 

The previous Russian Ambassador to Brunei Vladimir Goncharenko died in March 2022.
