Putin congratulated African countries on the continent's day

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a congratulatory message to African heads of state and government that the continent's countries have made significant economic and social progress, Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister, said on Monday at the plenary session of the 15th Conference of Africanists at TASS.


"It is very symbolic that this conference begins its work on the eve of the Africa Day celebration on May 25. On this occasion, Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory message to heads of state and government of Africa, in which, among other things, he noted that African countries have achieved significant success in the economic and social fields, playing a growing role in addressing topical issues on the international agenda," he said.


"Within the framework of the African Union, as well as a number of sub-regional structures, constructive, multilateral cooperation is expanding, and mutually beneficial integration processes are advancing," Bogdanov added.
