Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on his birthday, the conversation with the first president of the republic Nursultan Nazarbayev confirmed the intention to strengthen relations between the two countries, the Kremlin press service reported.
"In the course of a telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on his birthday. There was a conversation with the first president of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, during which the mutual intention for the full strengthening of Russian-Kazakh relations of alliance and strategic partnership was confirmed," the message reads.
The leaders also agreed to maintain further close contacts.
