Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Tajikistan counterpart Emomali Rahmon on Tajikistan's national holiday, Independence Day.
"Relations between Russia and Tajikistan are developing dynamically in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. Bilateral cooperation in various directions, as well as cooperation within the CIS, CSTO, SCO and other multilateral structures is giving a good return," the Russian head of state said in a message published on the Kremlin's website on Friday.
Putin noted that Tajikistan has made significant progress in the economic and social spheres and plays an important constructive role in regional and international affairs.
"I am sure that we will continue to build up the fruitful Russia-Tajikistan cooperation in every way possible - for the benefit of our friendly peoples, in the interests of ensuring peace, security and stability in Central Asia," the Russian president concluded.
He wished Rahmon good health and success in state activities, and happiness and prosperity to the citizens of Tajikistan.
