Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his congratulations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day. Putin expressed his confidence that Moscow and Baku will continue to enhance their productive cooperation across all spheres and maintain coordinated efforts in regional affairs.
"I am confident that with joint efforts we will continue to systematically build up productive bilateral cooperation in all spheres, as well as coordination of efforts in regional affairs," Putin stated in a message published on the Kremlin's website.
Putin highlighted that the expansion of cooperation between the two nations aligns with the interests of their friendly peoples and contributes to the consolidation of security and stability in the South Caucasus and the Caspian Sea. He emphasized the importance Moscow places on its alliance with Baku.
The Russian president also acknowledged Azerbaijan's significant achievements in socio-economic development, its respected status on the world stage, and its active participation in addressing major international issues.
Putin wished Aliyev good health and success, and extended his best wishes for happiness and prosperity to all Azerbaijani citizens.
Independence Day is celebrated in Azerbaijan on May 28.
