Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday in a telephone conversation with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmajid Tebboun discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda, including coordination in OPEC+, as well as the situation in Ukraine and in the zone of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Kremlin press service reported.

"While discussing topical regional issues, the parties expressed their concern over the worsening situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the importance of stepping up international efforts for a Middle East settlement was stressed," the Kremlin said in a statement.

"The situation around Ukraine was also touched upon," the Kremlin added.

In addition, the heads of state exchanged congratulations on the occasion of this year's 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, noting the stable progressive development of friendly relations between Russia and Algeria.

"Moscow has confirmed its intention to continue bilateral coordination in the OPEC+ format and within the framework of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum to ensure stability on the global energy markets," the Kremlin concluded.

The presidents agreed to continue contacts at different levels.
