Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Tajikistan's leader Emomali Rahmon on his birthday, which is celebrated on October 5. Putin also highlighted Rahmon's personal contribution to strengthening the ties between Russia and Tajikistan, as well as within the framework of international organizations. The text of Putin's telegram was published by the press service of the Tajik president.
"It is difficult to overstate your personal contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between our countries, as well as to fostering mutually beneficial ties within the CSTO, CIS, and SCO. I look forward to continuing our constructive dialogue and close collaboration on pressing issues concerning Russian-Tajikistan relations," the telegram reads.
Putin also acknowledged that Rahmon has earned "well-deserved respect among his compatriots and high prestige abroad" through his many years of service as the leader of Tajikistan. "Under your leadership, Tajikistan is steadily progressing on the path of economic and social development and plays a significant role in regional and international affairs," the Russian president wrote. Putin also wished him health, prosperity, and continued success.
Emomali Rahmon celebrated his 71st birthday on October 5.
