Russia is fully committed to facilitating the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the signing of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during a credentials presentation ceremony.
"Our cooperation with Armenia and Azerbaijan is guided by the same spirit. We have been and continue to do everything possible to normalize Azerbaijan-Armenia relations and to ensure lasting peace in the South Caucasus. We will keep assisting in the peace treaty efforts, the demarcation of national borders, and the unblocking of economic and transport links as part of the established trilateral agreements at the highest levels from 2020 to 2022," Putin said.
The Russian president also highlighted the productive discussion that took place between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the BRICS summit in Kazan this past October. "I cannot help but express satisfaction that the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia took advantage of the BRICS summit platform in Kazan and held a constructive conversation on key issues aimed at achieving durable peace and interethnic harmony in the region," he emphasized.
