Most Arab countries have confirmed their intention to attend the upcoming Russia–Arab World summit scheduled to take place in Moscow this October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting at the Kremlin with Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council.
“I would like to inform you that we are planning to hold a Russia–Arab World summit in Moscow this October,” Putin stated. “We are counting on your personal participation. The overwhelming majority of our friends in the Arab world have already confirmed their attendance.”
According to the Russian leader, preparations for the summit are progressing steadily. “We hope this event will contribute to further developing our relations with partners across the Arab world,” he added.
President Putin had earlier extended invitations to all heads of state of the League of Arab States. Russia’s Foreign Ministry has expressed hope that the summit, set for October 15, will serve as an additional catalyst for strengthening strategic cooperation and partnership between Russia and the Arab world.
