Russia will continue to support Syria in the fight against terrorism, ensuring the settlement and reconstruction of the country, the Kremlin press service quotes Russian President Vladimir Putin's New Year's greetings to Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.
"In a congratulatory message addressed to President al-Assad of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Russian leader expressed the hope that the coming year will be marked by the strengthening of peace and stability on Syrian soil. Putin affirmed that Russia will continue to provide friendly Syria with full support in the fight against international terrorism, as well as in ensuring a comprehensive political settlement and post-conflict reconstruction," the message reads.
