Putin: Russia-Tajikistan Relations Developing According to Plan

27 November

Russian-Tajik relations are successfully developing according to established plans, with both governments working in close coordination, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during his meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on the sidelines of the Collective Security Treaty Organization summit.

The Russian leader noted he considered it necessary to meet with his Tajik counterpart to discuss "the further development of bilateral ties." "It would be a unfortunate not to use this opportunity to meet and talk face-to-face about all issues of particular interest to both Tajikistan and Russia," Putin added.

"Overall, everything is progressing according to our plans, which we coordinated during my visit," the Russian president assessed, thanking Rahmon for the warm reception during his state visit to Dushanbe in October.

"Everything is moving forward, our governments are working on all priority areas, and most importantly, our trade turnover is growing," concluded the Russian leader.
