Russia and Kazakhstan may develop cooperation in many fields, including high-tech. There is potential for this, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday, speaking from the Kremlin via video link to participants of the Forum of interregional cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan.
"In general, Russia and Kazakhstan have broad prospects for joint work in a variety of sectors of the economy, including high-tech. There is no doubt that regions of our country will proactively participate in this work," the Russian president said.
Putin reminded that together with the Kazakh partners, coordinated steps are taken to improve competitiveness and strengthen the transit potential of the transport systems of both states. In addition, projects on expansion of capacity of automobile border crossings are implemented, conditions for growth of cargo transportation by water, including the Caspian Sea and the Irtysh River, are created. "The Eurasian railway alliance established by Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus is functioning successfully, providing a stable and safe railway connection between the countries of the Eurasian continent," Putin added.
The Russian president also mentioned that joint Russia-Kazakhstan initiatives on the development of energy infrastructure, exploration and production of hydrocarbons are being implemented, and cooperation in the oil and gas and electricity sectors, including mutual supplies and transit of oil, gas and electricity, is advancing. "Russia and Kazakhstan are also actively cooperating within the Eurasian Union, where common energy markets are being formed. Together with EEU partners we are engaged in digitalization of transport and logistics routes, introduction of artificial intelligence to speed up cargo flows. At the initiative of the Russian and Kazakh parties, a platform for the EEU digital transport corridor ecosystem is being developed, aimed at optimizing information exchange between economic operators," concluded the Russian head of state.
