Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon for his constructive leadership during Tajikistan’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2025.
“I would like once again to thank Emomali Sharipovich Rahmon and all our friends in Tajikistan for their constructive and proactive approach to fulfilling the chairmanship duties in the CIS over the past year,” Putin said during the informal CIS summit.
The Russian president also wished success to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and “our Turkmen colleagues, who will assume the chairmanship of the Commonwealth on January 1,” adding that Russia stands ready to provide all necessary support.
