Putin to Hold Talks With CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Leadership

08 December

Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to meet with members of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

According to Peskov, the president will welcome the council members — including the heads of national parliaments and parliamentary chambers — to the Kremlin during their visit to Moscow.

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, who also chairs the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, will join the meeting. Also expected are the speaker of Belarus’s House of Representatives, the head of Kazakhstan’s Mazhilis, and the speaker of Tajikistan’s Majlisi.

Peskov said the discussion will open with remarks from Putin, followed by Volodin’s briefing on the meetings held in Moscow as part of the assembly’s program. The opening section of the talks will be accessible to the press.
