Putin Welcomes Participants of Second Russia-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum

22 October

President Vladimir Putin has sent greetings to participants, organizers and guests of the Second Russia-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum, highlighting the dynamically developing strategic partnership between the two nations.

In his message published on the Kremlin website, the President stated: “Relations between our countries are dynamically developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. An important component of these ties has traditionally been interregional cooperation, which is actively supported at various levels. Over 40 interregional agreements are already in force, creating conditions for implementing joint economic, social, and humanitarian projects, establishing industrial parks and technology centers, and organizing exhibitions and presentations.”

The head of state noted that the current forum provides an excellent platform for direct dialogue involving leaders from central and local governments, entrepreneurs, experts, academics, and civil society representatives. Discussions will focus on cooperation in industry, agriculture, energy, e-commerce, transportation, logistics, culture and education.

Putin added that “during the plenary session and thematic panels, participants will exchange accumulated experience and outline new, promising forms and methods of joint work.” He expressed confidence that the forum's discussions would be constructive and substantive, with proposed ideas and initiatives receiving practical implementation to further strengthen comprehensive Russia-Uzbekistan cooperation.

The president concluded by wishing success and all the best to participants, organizers, and guests of the forum.

The Second Russia-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum is being held October 21-22 at Moscow Region's Patriot Park, with the Russian delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
