Qatar's authorities have urged lifting sanctions on Syria to ease the delivery of humanitarian aid, and are working on organizing assistance through airports within the country. This was stated by Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, advisor to the Prime Minister and official spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a briefing.
“The air bridge remains operational as long as there is a need. We are working to ensure the extension of this air bridge to airports within Syria. In this context, we have emphasized the importance of lifting sanctions on Syria, as they pose obstacles to delivering humanitarian aid to the brotherly Syrian people,” Al-Ansari noted.
He revealed that Qatar has sent a total of 144 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria since the recent change of leadership in the country. Qatar has been dispatching aid via neighboring countries, including Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon.
