Israel has yet to respond to a ceasefire proposal put forward by mediators regarding the Gaza Strip, according to Majid bin Mohammed Al Ansari, adviser to the Qatari Prime Minister and official spokesman for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry.
“Israel has not yet responded to the ceasefire offer in Gaza,” Al Ansari said during a briefing at Qatar’s Foreign Ministry.
He added, “We see nothing from Israel except escalation, which is manifested in intentions to occupy Gaza City.”
The Qatari foreign ministry representative emphasized that mediators continue to engage both Hamas and Israel in efforts to end the conflict, but so far, “there is nothing new within the diplomatic process.”
He called on the international community to present a united stance to halt Israel’s military operation in Gaza.
