Raisi Vows Retaliation for Israeli Strike on Iranian Consulate in Damascus

02 April

Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi has declared that the Israeli Air Force strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus will not go without a response.

"The Zionist regime (Israel - TASS), due to its repeated failures and defeats, resorts to blind terror. However, it should be aware that it will never achieve its malicious goals through such inhumane actions, and this cowardly act will not be left unanswered," Raisi stated.

Raisi condemned the inhumane attack as a blatant violation of international law. He mourned the loss of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps generals, Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, who were serving as senior military advisers in Damascus and have now "joined the ranks of martyrs with honor." The president also offered his condolences to the families of those killed in the assault.
