Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, provided an explanation for the decrease in the number of participants in the Russia-Africa summit. He mentioned that the reduction was mainly due to the busy work schedules of some leaders, while also acknowledging the role of Western pressure.
The Kremlin spokesman clarified that certain heads of state were unable to attend the summit due to their work commitments. Additionally, Peskov pointed out the evident interference by the United States, France, and other states through their diplomatic missions in African countries. These efforts were aimed at pressuring the leadership of these countries to deter their active participation in the forum.
Despite the decrease in the number of participants, Peskov reassured that it will not hinder the successful conduct of the summit.
