A meeting of representatives from six countries — including Russia, China, and Pakistan — will be held next week in Iran to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei announced.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran places the highest priority on ensuring security and stability in neighboring countries and will spare no effort to ease tensions in the region and strengthen mutual understanding,” the ministry’s Telegram channel quoted him as saying.
According to Baghaei, the meeting will take place in Tehran next week and will bring together special envoys for Afghanistan from Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, China, and Russia.
