Russia is preparing to lift visa requirements for Jordan, Myanmar, and several other countries in the Middle East and Asia, announced Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov during the international tourism forum Travel!.
“In April of this year, we signed a visa waiver agreement with Oman. Next in line are Jordan, Myanmar, and a number of other countries in the Middle East and Asia,” he said.
The minister also noted that Russia is expanding visa-free group tourism programs. Discussions are currently underway to introduce group visa waivers with Vietnam and India. “We see strong potential in both the Indian and Vietnamese markets. For tourists, it’s a chance to enter the country for free—as long as the trip is booked through a trusted tour operator who will organize the itinerary properly,” he explained.
The fifth Travel! International Tourism Forum is taking place in Moscow at VDNH from June 10 to 15. The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with support from the Russian government and the Ministry of Economic Development. TASS is the forum’s strategic media partner.
