US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday on the sidelines of the ASEAN meetings in Kuala Lumpur, according to Rubio’s official schedule released by the State Department.
The schedule lists a meeting between Rubio and Lavrov at 6:00 p.m. local time (1:00 p.m. Moscow time).
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova previously confirmed that Lavrov would take part in ASEAN-related events on July 10–11, including ministerial meetings in the Russia–ASEAN, East Asia Summit, and ASEAN Regional Forum formats. She also noted that Lavrov plans to hold a series of bilateral talks with Asian counterparts during his visit.
