Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko met with Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, to discuss pressing regional and international issues. Both sides noted that the two countries hold closely aligned positions on the major challenges facing the world today.
According to the Russian foreign ministry, the two officials exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, stressing that Russia and Iran share similar — and in many cases identical — approaches to resolving key global issues.
The ministry also highlighted the steady progress in the full range of Russian-Iranian relations, which is developing in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement that recently entered into force.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding cooperation across all promising areas.
Azizi arrived in Moscow on a working visit to take part in the events of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly.
