Russia and Djibouti simplified travel conditions for holders of diplomatic passports

The authorities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Djibouti have simplified the conditions of mutual trips for holders of diplomatic and service passports. This is stated in a document published on Wednesday on the official portal of legal information.


According to the agreement, holders of diplomatic passports of both countries can now stay in Russia and Djibouti without a visa for 90 days. "Citizens of the state of one party who are holders of valid diplomatic or service passports have the right to enter, exit, transit and stay on the territory of the state of the other party without visas for 90 days from the date of entry," the document reads.


The agreement also notes that citizens of Russia and Djibouti, who are holders of diplomatic passports should obtain a visa before entering the territory of the other party in case the purpose of their trip is work, study, living, journalism or other activities that require prior permission from the competent authorities. An exception are holders of diplomatic passports, assigned to work in the diplomatic mission and consular offices in Russia and Djibouti, they do not need a visa for the entire period of accreditation.
