Russia and Jordan are preparing to sign an agreement on mutual visa exemption for short-term tourist travel. The corresponding directive was approved by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to an official publication on the government’s legal information portal.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has been instructed to hold negotiations with the Jordanian side and sign the agreement on behalf of the Russian government. It is noted that the draft agreement was preliminarily coordinated with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Under the agreement, citizens of both countries will be allowed to travel visa-free for stays of up to 30 calendar days. However, the total duration of such visits must not exceed 90 days within a one-year period.
Currently, Russian citizens can obtain a visa upon arrival at Jordan’s international airport. The cost of a single-entry visa is 40 Jordanian dinars (approximately $60), valid for up to one month.
