Mikhail Bogdanov, Russia’s Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister, held discussions with Lebanon’s Ambassador to Moscow, Сhawki Bou Nassar, regarding the evolving situation in Lebanon and the broader region, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on Lebanon’s internal developments and external challenges. The Russian side emphasized that the formation of a new government led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is a crucial step toward restoring Lebanon’s effective governance and strengthening stability in the country. Moscow reaffirmed its support for Lebanon’s internal political consensus as the foundation for progress.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the meeting took place at the initiative of the Lebanese side.
