Moscow and Muscat are ready to provide comprehensive assistance toward a swift resolution of the conflict surrounding Iran to normalize the regional situation, a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry following a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko and the Omani Ambassador to Moscow, Hamood bin Salem Al Towayya, reads.
"Primary attention was focused on the escalation in the Persian Gulf zone caused by the unprovoked aggression of the US and Israel against Iran. Both sides expressed their readiness to provide all-encompassing support for the earliest possible settlement of the conflict through political and diplomatic means, aiming for long-term sustainable normalization while accounting for the legitimate interests of all regional states," the ministry noted.
They added that the officials also reviewed current issues regarding the continued steady development of the traditionally friendly Russia-Oman relationship.
