Russia announced migration amnesty for 158 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan

158 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan, who were forbidden to enter the country, were granted a migrant amnesty. This is announced in a statement of the embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow, citing first deputy interior minister Alexander Gorovoi.


According to the diplomatic mission, Gorovoi announced this during a meeting with a delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by the advisor to prime minister Mehridin Khairiddinov. The delegation is currently on a visit to Moscow.


It is noted that this decision does not apply to the citizens of Uzbekistan who were previously deported from Russia on the basis of court decisions.
