Russia ready to consider Indonesia's proposals on Ukraine settlement

05 June 2023

Russia is ready to consider proposals on the settlement in Ukraine, including from Indonesia, as soon as it receives them, Russian Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko told reporters on Monday.

"If they are officially submitted, we will consider them. We are considering any proposals [on the settlement in Ukraine] we receive," the deputy minister said in response to a related question.

Earlier, Rudenko said that Moscow welcomes the efforts of any states directed at the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.

On June 3, Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto proposed a plan for the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, which includes a ceasefire, the creation of a demilitarized zone and the deployment of UN peacekeepers. The initiative was presented Saturday during his address at the Shangri-La Dialogue security conference in Singapore.
