Russia is genuinely committed to the peaceful and exclusively evolutionary development of Central Asian states, and has no interest in border destabilization resulting from pseudo-revolutionary chaos of any kind. This statement was made by Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Alexey Yerkhov at the forum "Central Asia - Russia: Strategic Partnership in a Changing World."
"Russia is interested exclusively in the evolutionary development of the region's states. We do not need destabilization at our borders as a result of pseudo-revolutionary chaos of any variety, particularly one driven by external forces. We sincerely hope that our friends and neighbors will not be dictated to regarding how, where, and with whom they should align," the embassy's press service quoted his statement.
According to the embassy, the forum brought together members of the Tashkent diplomatic corps, leading analytical centers, research institutions, government agencies, business communities, and universities from Russia and Central Asian countries. Participants discussed energy cooperation, development of international transport corridors, joint responses to security challenges, improvements to migration policies, as well as digitalization and innovation as new drivers of growth.
It was also noted that a cooperation agreement was signed during the forum between its organizers – the International Institute of Central Asia and the Russian Gorchakov Foundation for Public Diplomacy Support. "The forum served as an important platform for open expert dialogue, exchange of views, and development of practical recommendations to strengthen the strategic partnership between Russia and Central Asian countries ahead of the upcoming 'Central Asia - Russia' summit in Dushanbe," the embassy's statement concluded.
