Russia handed over four Mi-171 military transport helicopters to Mali last week, the Russian embassy in Mali and Niger said Monday.
"The official ceremony of handing over four Russian Mi-171 military transport helicopters to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Mali took place on November 26 with the participation of transition president A. Goyta and Prime Minister Sh. Maiga," the diplomatic mission's Twitter account said.
Earlier, the country's Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop said in an interview with RIA Novosti that Mali needs supplies of Russian aviation equipment and training of qualified personnel.
