Russian Ambassador to Libya Aidar Aganin confirmed that members of the Libyan Presidential Council and government have expressed their readiness to participate in the upcoming Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg. In an interview with TASS, the ambassador stated that invitations were extended to more than a dozen Libyan representatives, including members of the Presidential Council and government, and they have indicated their willingness to attend the summit.

"This positive response demonstrates the improved situation in Libya and reflects the strengthening of contacts and partnerships between Russia and Libya in various areas," Aganin highlighted.

The second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum is scheduled to take place on July 27-28 in St. Petersburg. The inaugural event was held in Sochi in October 2019 under the theme "For Peace, Security and Development."
