Russia will continue to expand and strengthen cooperation with Indonesia across a wide range of areas, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergey Tolchenov said, as quoted by the Antara news agency.
“We will continue making every possible effort to deepen bilateral relations with Indonesia’s ministries, government agencies, regional authorities, business community, scholarly and academic circles, as well as youth and student organizations,” Tolchenov stated.
The ambassador emphasized that Moscow and Jakarta are bound by a strategic partnership built on mutual respect, equality, and adherence to international law. He noted that the two countries’ positions on many regional and global issues are closely aligned and continue to converge.
“Russia and Indonesia consistently advocate for the establishment of a more just, balanced, and sustainable world order,” Tolchenov said. “In this context, cooperation through various multilateral platforms — including BRICS — continues to play an important role in promoting inclusive development and constructive dialogue.”
Earlier in December, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto visited Russia for working talks with President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin. The two nations established diplomatic relations on February 3, 1950.
