Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Awards Victory Medal to Former Concentration Camp Prisoner

Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov has awarded a commemorative medal marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War to a former child prisoner of a Nazi concentration camp.

 

In a ceremony held at the Russian diplomatic mission in Tashkent, Malginov presented the “80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945” medal to Gelman Iskakovich Knyazev. The ambassador also conveyed personal congratulations from Russian President Vladimir Putin and expressed deep appreciation for the courage and resilience of the wartime generation.

 

“The generation of victors showed extraordinary strength, unbreakable spirit, and deep love for their homeland. We are eternally grateful for their sacrifice,” Malginov stated.

 

The Russian Embassy’s press service emphasized that honoring veterans remains a priority and reaffirmed the commitment to preserving historical memory.

 

“We sincerely wish Gelman Iskakovich good health, strength of spirit, and well-being. No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten,” the embassy said in a statement.
