Russian and Turkish Defense and Foreign Ministers Attend Putin-Erdogan Talks

Russian and Turkish Defense Ministers Sergei Shoigu and Yasar Guler, Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Hakan Fidan are among the participants in the talks between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The list of delegation members was published on the Kremlin's website.

 

Also participating in the talks in an expanded format from the Russian side are:


- Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak,
- Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration - Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov,
- Putin's aides Maxim Oreshkin and Yuri Ushakov,
- Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev,
- Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina,
- Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugaev,
- Head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev,
- Director-General of Rosatom Alexei Likhachev.

 

The Turkish delegation consists of 14 people. Alongside the heads of the defense and foreign policy departments, it includes, among others:


- Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar,
- Minister of Finance and Treasury Mehmet Simsek,
- Minister of Industry and Technology Fatih Kacir,
- Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli,
- Trade Minister Omer Bolat,
- Head of the National Intelligence Organization Ibrahim Kalin,
- Head of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration Fahrettin Altun,
- Chief Presidential Advisor Haluk Gergun,
- Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan,
- Chief Advisor to the Turkish President Akif Cagatay Kilic.

 

The talks are taking place at the Rus' resort complex in Sochi. This marks the first face-to-face meeting of the presidents since the elections in Turkey and Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal.
