Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged congratulatory telegrams on Wednesday in honor of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, praised the level of strategic partnership between the two countries, and confirmed the intention to continue developing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
"December 8 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and the UAE. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and United Arab Emirates Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged congratulatory telegrams on the occasion of this anniversary. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the multifaceted and traditionally friendly Russian-Emirati relations of strategic partnership," the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
The parties confirmed their intention to continue the development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas. "High praise was given to foreign policy coordination on key issues of the international and regional agenda in the interests of maintaining peace and security in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East as a whole," the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.
