Russian Consulate General in Almaty provides information support to Russians

Russian Consulate General in Almaty provides information assistance to Russians who have applied in connection with the protests taking place in the country, Russian Consul General in Almaty Yevgeny Bobrov told TASS on Wednesday.


"The Russian Consulate General in Almaty helps Russian citizens in informing them about the situation that is happening in the district entrusted to the Consulate General and also helps them coordinate their actions," Bobrov said when asked about possible appeals from Russians in connection with the protests taking place in Kazakhstan.


Eldar Yarakhmedov, third secretary of the Russian Consulate General in Almaty, told TASS that six Russian citizens have contacted the diplomat on duty by telephone with a request for information support and explanations about the state of emergency and curfew in the city. These were mostly tourists who came to Almaty for the New Year holidays. "We explained to them the order of stay on the territory of Almaty and coordinated the possibility of further actions," Yarakhmedov noted.
