Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Saudi Ambassador Abdel Rahman al-Ahmad discussed on Tuesday the situation in the Middle East with a focus on the situation in Yemen, the Persian Gulf zone and the Palestinian-Israeli settlement.
"During the conversation, there was an in-depth exchange of views on topical regional issues with a focus on the situation in Yemen, the Persian Gulf zone and the Palestinian-Israeli settlement," the Russian diplomatic office said in a statement.
According to the ministry, during the conversation the sides also discussed priority issues of further development of the traditionally friendly Russian-Saudi relations.
The meeting was held on the initiative of the ambassador of Saudi Arabia.
