Russian Deputy Foreign Minister discussed with Mauritanian Ambassador preparations for Russia-Africa summit

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Mauritanian Ambassador to Moscow Mohamed Mahmoud Dakhi met to discuss preparations for the upcoming second Russia-Africa summit, scheduled to take place in St. Petersburg in late July.



The focus of the meeting was on the process of organizing the summit, with special attention given to ensuring its success. Both sides expressed their commitment to the progressive development of the traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Mauritania. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue on issues of mutual interest in the Middle East and Africa.



Furthermore, the discussions touched upon strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including trade, economy, humanitarian affairs, and other areas of common interest.



The meeting was held at the request of the Mauritanian ambassador.



The second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum are scheduled to take place on July 27-28 in St. Petersburg. The inaugural event was held in Sochi from October 22-24, 2019, under the theme "For Peace, Security and Development."
