Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin held a phone conversation with Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary‑General of the Palestinian National Initiative movement, to discuss the situation in the Palestinian‑Israeli conflict zone, Russia’s Foreign Ministry reported.
Both sides stressed the need to ensure a stable ceasefire and the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to the affected areas.
The discussion also touched upon the restoration of Palestinian national unity, which was described as one of the key conditions for restarting the Palestinian‑Israeli peace process based on the “two‑state formula,” the ministry added.
The conversation took place at the initiative of the Palestinian side.
