An Il-76 aircraft from Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) has delivered a new batch of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, the ministry's press service reported.
“The special flight provided the fifth shipment of humanitarian assistance to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Russian rescuers handed over a total of 28 tons of supplies, primarily food products,” the statement read.
The operation, carried out under the directive of Russian President Vladimir Putin and at the instruction of EMERCOM head Alexander Kurenkov, continues Russia’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan's population in times of need, the ministry added.
