Russian Foreign Ministry: Moscow in Daily Contact With Parties to Middle East Conflict

19 June

Russia is maintaining daily communication with all parties involved in the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa told TASS.

“These contacts are happening every day,” Bogdanov said in response to a question about Moscow’s current diplomatic efforts.

He also urged Russian citizens in the region to leave Israel and Iran if they have the means to do so, noting that evacuation is already underway via Egypt and Azerbaijan.

“First, we’ve advised people not to travel there. Second, those who are already there and have a chance to leave should do so. Where evacuations are needed, we are already actively carrying them out — from Israel through Egypt and from Iran through Azerbaijan. This process is well underway,” the senior diplomat added.
