It is time for the international community to take seriously the fight against the terrorist threat in Afghanistan, especially the terrorist group "Islamic State" (ISIS, banned in Russia), the comment of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the terrorist attack on the territory of Kabul University reads.

"We believe that it is time for the international community to seriously take up the fight against the terrorist threat in Afghanistan, first of all, with the Islamic State (former name of IG - TASS), which is the main destabilizing factor not only in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan but also throughout the world".

The agency also called on the Afghan government and foreign military leadership to "find and punish the perpetrators of this inhumane attack".

On Monday, an explosion occurred on university premises in Kabul, after which a group of armed men began shooting near the law faculty. About 20 people were killed and over 20 injured. Units of Afghan Special Forces were sent to the university. Security forces were able to evacuate hundreds of people. Three of the attackers were killed.

ISIS has once again claimed responsibility for the second barbaric attack on an educational facility in the Afghan capital in recent years.

Afghan authorities declared November 3 a national day of mourning.
