Russian MFA Condemns Kunduz Terror Attack

13 February

Russia has strongly condemned the brutal terrorist attack in Kunduz carried out by ISIS (a terrorist organization banned in Russia). According to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement, the attack aimed to destabilize the northern regions of Afghanistan.

“Russia strongly condemns the barbaric terrorist act committed on February 11 by a suicide bomber near a bank entrance in Kunduz. The attack, claimed by Islamic State – Khorasan Province (banned in Russia), took over 25 lives and left dozens injured. This act of terror, orchestrated by ISIS operatives and their sponsors, is designed to undermine the domestic political stability of Afghanistan's previously calm northern regions,” the statement reads.

The Russian government extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery to those injured. “Moscow is confident that Afghan authorities will be able to identify and hold the organizers of the Kunduz attack accountable,” the ministry added.
