Russia supports the parties to the conflict in Sudan reaching a national consensus and cooperation, Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told RT on Thursday.
He noted that Russia and Sudan have always had friendly relations. "Our Minister [of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov] visited Khartoum, there were very good contacts, meetings and negotiations both with the head of the foreign ministry and with the military authorities. We have always been in favor of a national consensus and cooperation between the forces in Sudan - military and civilian," Bogdanov said.
