Western countries are beginning to realize that lasting security in Europe is impossible without reopening channels of communication with Russia, Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky said in an interview with Izvestia.
“There’s no other way to restore stability and ensure mutual security on the continent,” Lyubinsky noted. “Still, some overly zealous policymakers continue to fantasize about Russia’s so-called ‘strategic defeat.’”
He emphasized that Moscow has repeatedly stated its readiness for constructive talks while maintaining that such dialogue must be based on mutual respect. “The language of ultimatums, threats, and unfounded accusations is simply unacceptable,” Lyubinsky said.
