The United Nations Security Council must bear responsibility for de-escalating the situation between Iran and Israel, Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
“The Security Council should indeed bear responsibility. The UN Secretary-General is also involved — we are in contact with him, and our representatives in New York are actively working with all parties involved. But this requires political will, first and foremost from Israel and the United States,” he emphasized, speaking at a session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
