The Presidium of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia (RBM RF) has strongly condemned Israel’s recent military strike on Iran and called for the involvement of Russia in resolving the conflict through diplomacy. The statement was delivered during Friday prayers by acting RBM RF chairman Mufti Damir Mukhetdinov.
In its message, the presidium expressed deep outrage over the attack, which resulted in the deaths of senior Iranian military officials, scientists, civilians, and widespread destruction of infrastructure.
“This assault is particularly unacceptable in light of global efforts to reach a peaceful agreement concerning Iran’s nuclear program,” the statement emphasized. “The attack shows that certain actors in the Middle East are more interested in igniting war than in finding peaceful solutions.”
The RBM RF called for the conflict to be resolved through dialogue and urged “reasonable forces in the West” to acknowledge this and turn to Russia’s mediation efforts. The statement further criticized a long-standing Western policy of “demonizing Iran and the entire Islamic culture.”
“The Russian Federation, at the highest levels of its leadership, has repeatedly offered its mediation to the interested parties. We must not allow this crisis to turn into a global war or a clash of civilizations, as some provocateurs would wish,” the message added.
The address concluded with a prayer asking Allah to protect believers around the world and prevent a new bloody international conflict in the Middle East.
